Professor Arturo Langa has over 30 years of experience working within the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK and is a former Visiting Professor at the University of the Highlands and Islands. His extensive medical training includes time at Yale University Teaching Hospital, as well as psychiatric training in London, Edinburgh, and Harvard University. A member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Professor Langa currently serves as a Consultant Psychiatrist for NHS Lanarkshire and holds senior leadership roles within the NHS Scotland.

In addition to his clinical work, Professor Langa is a published author, book editor and an experienced non-executive director across the private, public, and voluntary sectors. His current roles include being a non-executive director of NHS National Services Scotland and a member of the University Court at Queen Margaret University. He is also Co-Editor of the International Journal of Developmental Disabilities and serves on the Editorial Boards of several leading international journals. Professor Langa previously served a Council Member for the Royal Society of Medicine.

Dr. Brian Salmons is the co-editor of the International Journal of Developmental Disabilities (IJDD) alongside Dr. Arturo Langa, a role he has held since 2006. He previously served as the editorial advisor for the journal, formerly known as the British Journal of Developmental Disabilities, beginning in 1994. He is also a trustee of the British Society for Developmental Disabilities.

He completed his PhD in Genetics in London in 1984. Following research positions in the U.S.A., Switzerland, and Germany, he transitioned into the biotech industry, joining Bavarian Nordic, an international vaccine company. Later, he co-founded Austrianova Singapore, where he pioneered the development of cell encapsulation technology for disease treatment. In 2013, he co-founded Austrianova Thailand, dedicated to the GMP-compliant production of encapsulated cell products.

Dr. Salmons has authored/co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications in international scientific and medical journals. He also co-authored the first German-language textbook on gene therapy and serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals. His contributions to the advancement of gene therapy and biotechnology are reflected in the eight patent families under his name.

Dr. Pavan John Antony is a Professor of Special Education at the Ruth A. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences at Adelphi University, New York. Dr. Elsayed Hassanein is an Associate Professor of Special Education at the College of Education, Qatar University. He completed his PhD at Exeter University, UK, in 2010. Ghina Kalaji is a passionate researcher dedicated to enhancing educational practices across various domains, including gifted education and the inclusion of individuals with developmental disorders. Dr. Soha Elzalabany has been an instructor, adjunct faculty member, and researcher at the American University of Cairo since 2013. Dr. Elzalabany is renowned for her implementation of inclusive support systems designed to meet the diverse learning and behavioral needs of students. She previously served as a content development manager for the Ministry of Education in Egypt, where she made significant contributions to national educational reform by integrating inclusive practices into five K-6 national curricula. Dr. Sarah Benson is an Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham, leading the Inclusion and Special Education Needs PGCert and Master’s programs in the UK and Dubai. She holds a PhD in Special Education from the University of Virginia, an MA International Education from The George Washington University, and a BA in English and Special Education from James Madison University.

Dr. Benson has published extensively on inclusive policy in the Middle East, focusing on teacher development and opportunities for students with disabilities. Ginette Moore is an accomplished inclusion specialist with nearly 25 years in education, spanning leadership roles in both the UK and UAE. Currently serving as Assistant Principal for Inclusion at Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, she is responsible fore whole-school inclusion initiatives. Ginette Previously held positions in ADEK’s Students Determination Office and contributed to the ADEK Inclusion Policy for private and charter schools (2023). A dedicated educator, she also tutors for iSENCo, NASENCo and NPQSENCo programs and is pursuing professional doctorate at the University of Bath, with a focus on advancing SEND provision and inclusive practices.
